Foundation and Hertha hold 125 children’s tournament

The LFC Foundation and Hertha BSC held a 125th anniversary soccer tournament for local children on Saturday as the two clubs came together to celebrate their history.

Three LFC Legends - Gary McAllister, Vladimir Smicer and Patrik Berger – joined coaches from both clubs at Olympic Park, holding pre-match team talks with the youngsters and offering encouragement from the sidelines.

The tournament was played out prior to Liverpool and Hertha meeting in a friendly at Olympiastadion that ended in a 3-0 victory for the Reds.

Patrick Berger said: “It’s been a great morning helping the LFC Foundation and Hertha BSC coaches deliver this fantastic tournament.

“The children have all enjoyed themselves – it’s a brilliant way to celebrate the special historic milestone of both of these great clubs.”
