FULL-TIME: That's it at Anfield and it's a sixth consecutive Premier League 2 win for Liverpool, the 4-2 result achieved through Harry Wilson's hat-trick and a sensational Rhian Brewster lob. Well done, lads!

-----

79mins: Another switch for the Reds - Yan Dhanda on for Ben Woodburn.

-----

75mins: That said, Rhian Brewster just threatened to break clear behind that Spurs backline once more and Harry Wilson, in confident mood, was not too far away when he tried to ping the subsequent loose ball over the goalkeeper.

-----

73mins: We're into the final stages of this encounter now and the tempo has dropped considerably during the past 15 minutes or so. Liverpool are perhaps happy to preserve their two-goal lead at this point - and they deserve to do so.

-----

63mins: A first change by Neil Critchley and Lazar Markovic's work is done for the night - Cameron Brannagan sent on in his place.

-----

Inch perfect...

-----

GOAL!!! 4-2 Liverpool! Their cushion is restored through a piece of Rhian Brewster magic, the striker racing onto Lloyd Jones' latest inviting long pass and nonchalantly lofting the ball up, over the 'keeper and in. At the Kop end, too.

-----

SECOND HALF: The action resumes with Brewster kicking off for the Reds. Will this period be as eventful as the first?

-----

HALF-TIME: And that's all for the first half at Anfield, and quite an opening 45 minutes it has been. Liverpool lead by the odd goal in five courtesy of a Harry Wilson hat-trick.

-----

GOAL!!! Hat-trick for Harry Wilson! The Reds are back in front and it's that man again - the No.7 with a clinical finish into the far corner from the right hand side to complete his treble in 45 minutes.

-----

GOAL: It's 2-2 at Anfield. The Reds fail to clear their lines from a Spurs corner and Christian Maghoma capitalises on time and freedom to swerve in a fine curler. All square.

-----

30mins: It hasn't quite been Rhian Brewster's night so far - now he has fired an effort against the crossbar from the edge of the area.

-----

27mins: So close to a hat-trick for Harry Wilson, who sees a shot deflected away for a corner after Rhian Brewster scampered onto Marko Grujic's prod in behind, beat his marker for pace and cut the ball back. Unlucky.

-----

-----

GOAL: Tottenham halve the deficit from the penalty spot, Marcus Edwards clipping an unstoppable spot-kick into the net at the Kop end, despite the protests of the Reds about the decision. 2-1 to Liverpool now.

-----

GOAL!!! 2-0 to the young Reds! It's Harry Wilson again. Lloyd Jones sends a long ball through to Lazar Markovic, who gets into the area and holds the ball up before squaring to the Welshman for a finish across the goalkeeper.

-----

12mins: Should be 2-0. Rhian Brewster breaks through on goal and after his initial blast is repelled by Brandon Austin, the No.9 scuffs the rebound wide off his left foot.

-----

9mins: The first effort in earnest from Spurs sees Joe Pritchard try his luck from a central free-kick around 25 yards from goal, but his strike is a comfortable take for Caoimhin Kelleher.

-----

Nice one, Harry!

-----

GOAL!!! LFC U23s lead within 26 seconds! Harry Wilson is the man with the opener, taking advantage of hesitant defending to pounce on a loose ball with a looping header over the goalkeeper and into the net.

-----

KICK-OFF: And here we go - the visitors get the game going...

-----

A really healthy crowd has gathered in the Kop to cheer on the young Reds tonight. The teams have just emerged onto the pitch and once the pre-match formalities are completed, we'll be under way at Anfield.

'This is a very special place'

Critchley is understandably thrilled by his team's start to the season and the boss is hoping the chance to play under the floodlights of the first-team stadium can inspire them once more.

"This is our second game in the space of five days and it will test the boys, but it's one we welcome and what an opportunity it is for them to play at Anfield again. It's a very special place and hopefully the boys can embrace it," he said.

"I thought we were excellent from start to finish against West Ham on Monday and some of the football we played - especially in the first half - was exceptional. These players are a joy to work with every day on the training pitch."

-----

Six in a row?

So, can the U23s make it six Premier League 2 victories in a row? Successes over Swansea City, Sunderland, Arsenal, Manchester City and West Ham United have made for a perfect start to the season for Neil Critchley's side.
