"It might be the last league game of the season but the boys are also playing for next season already. You don’t know what’s going to happen between now and the end of the season with the first team and also for pre-season with the first team.

"For young players there is always something to play for, there is always something to try and achieve so the way we work, the way we train and the way we approach the games is no different whether we are playing for the league or not. That will be the message to the boys on Tuesday - that they have lots to play for.

"When you play for Liverpool and you represent the club there are some non-negotiables and you are expected to do certain things. We’ll have to bring those things onto the pitch on Tuesday."

"When you get the fixture list at the start of the season and you see our run-in with Chelsea as the last game you are looking forward to it, especially with it being at Anfield, you look forward to it even more. It was a shame we couldn’t win the Premier League 2 title but it wasn’t to be and we now want to secure the runners-up spot with a victory.

"The lads need no motivation for this game because it’s at Anfield and it’s a chance to impress, so we will try our best to get the three points. Playing in front of the Kop is what you dream of when you are are a young boy and this is like fulfilling that dream.

"Overall, I feel we have had a strong season, especially when you consider in January we had a few of the lads go out on loan. We struggled for a bit after that and then managed to pick ourselves up a bit.

"We know all about the threat that Chelsea have but we are staying positive and we believe we are good enough to beat them and hopefully we will do that on Tuesday night."
