Public consultation closes on LFC Academy redevelopment

The pre-planning consultation period for Liverpool FC and Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council's proposed redevelopment of the Reds' Academy site in Kirkby has closed.

The project will bring together the club’s first team and youth training operations and facilities on one site, plus include improvements to the community playing fields at Simonswood Lane.

More than 2,000 local residents and businesses were invited to the public consultation held in Kirkby earlier this month to meet with representatives from LFC and KMBC.

Feedback has been received on the proposals through the post, online and via feedback forms from the consultation event.

In parallel, the pre-planning consultation period for the proposed redevelopment of the club’s existing first-team training ground at Melwood has also closed.

LFC issued a newsletter to just under 3,000 local residents inviting their feedback on the proposals.

All feedback received from both consultations will be fully reviewed and summarised in Statements of Community Engagement for each scheme. These documents will form part of any planning applications which may be brought forward by the club later this year.

LFC thanks those residents and businesses who provided feedback on the proposals.
