LFC legends take part in community tournament in Sydney

Craig Johnston, Gary McAllister and Jason McAteer were at Ultimate Soccer in Sydney on Saturday for a special Community 6v6 Tournament.

Organised by Liverpool FC in conjunction with Football United and The Reagan Milstein Foundation, the competition for U12s and U16s was delivered for grassroots football teams.

The trio of former Reds were on hand to offer their advice to the young players taking part and later hosted a meet and greet session after the action on the pitch was over.

“What a fantastic day it’s been for everyone involved,” said Johnston.

“It’s all about having fun and this is a very well-organised event where the local kids can play team sport. It’s really important that the kids get these types of opportunities to learn life lessons as well as learn to play football by Liverpool coaches.

“The LFC badge just makes it even more special for all the kids and their parents.”

Johnston, McAllister and McAteer have kicked off the club’s visit to Sydney, with the first team set to play a post-season friendly against Sydney FC at ANZ Stadium on Wednesday May 24.

Tickets for the game are available here.
