Starting from Sunday October 27, when Jürgen Klopp's side take on Tottenham Hotspur, fans will be handed reusable cups when purchasing beverages from bars, concourse kiosks and street food vendors.
Supporters will then be asked to return their cups to their nearest kiosk or pass to Reds Going Green volunteers, who will be on hand throughout the game.
The initiative will see the club typically reduce its plastic waste by approximately 170,000 cups per season.
Over the last five years, LFC has sought to source more sustainable alternatives to single-use plastic and will continue to do so as part of its commitment to improving the club's environmental impact.
During the last two seasons alone, the Reds Going Green initiative has had a significant effect on the key environmental issues facing the club's matchday operation.
Positive steps the club has made include eliminating the use of plastic straws, stirrers, cutlery and all plastic disposable packaging associated with these items across the stadium and its fan parks.
It has also removed single-use plastic food packaging, with trays made out of compostable palm leaf and maize introduced in its place.
Plastic cutlery and olyethylene food boxes have been replaced with compostable, fully biodegradable and accredited alternatives made from corn.
Later this season LFC will also be rolling out reusable 'bottoms-up' cups which will see the Reds reduce waste by a further 5,000 cups per game.
The club has recently been recognised for its work in this area and has been ranked joint-fourth in the English Premier League Sustainability Index.
Last season, LFC was also named Carbon Champion of the Year at the 2018 ECHO Environment Awards.
Paul Cuttill, vice president of stadium operations, said: "We are committed to phasing out single-use plastics across all operations and have made positive strides towards becoming a truly sustainable and environmentally friendly club.
"However, we also recognise that we are on a sustainability journey and there are still many areas we can improve on.
"We are working hard to implement change, both internally and externally with our suppliers and contractors across the club.
"To help us improve even further, we are asking fans to help reduce the use of plastic by returning their cups to our Reds Going Green volunteers, who will be on hand collecting cups throughout the game.
"They can also return their cups to any bar, kiosk or street food vendor for reuse."
