Red Neighbours team lend a hand at 'Scouse in the House'

Liverpool FC's Red Neighbours team headed to 'Scouse in the House' at Christ Church in Anfield on Thursday to meet local residents and lend a hand with the event.

The team helped serve more than 100 vulnerable locals with a hot meal before entertaining them with a sing-a-long and providing a friendly face to chat to.

LFC gifts were also given to attendees - including photographs, signature sheets and T-shirts - while the European Cup was present for a special photo opportunity.

Eddie, a local resident who regularly uses the service, said: “This is the best Scouse I’ve ever been to. Usually I just come for the food and leave, but the atmosphere has been amazing today.

“The food was lovely and the Red Neighbours team are all such amazing people. Please promise you’ll come back!”

A special presentation was also made to Christ Church vicar Kelvin Bolton, who has worked tirelessly in the community for many years and is set to retire at the end of August. He received a squad-signed LFC shirt as a thank-you for his valued contribution to the Anfield area.
