Foundation teams up with St Vincent's for visually impaired workshop

Liverpool FC Foundation joined St Vincent's School, a specialist centre for sensory impairment and other needs, to run a visually impaired workshop for local youngsters last week.

Young people from the Foundation's Premier League Kicks project attended the three-night course, designed to give able-bodied participants an understanding of how sports and physical activities are adapted to be inclusive for those with disabilities.

The Kicks participants - aged 15 to 17 - took part in various activities including blind football and swimming, as well as learning how to support and guide visually impaired runners.

Andrea Cooper, head of the LFC Foundation, said: “We're delighted to team up with St Vincent's to offer our young people the opportunity to learn more about sport for the visually impaired.

“It's a fantastic course and gives a real insight into how sports and activities can be modified to be inclusive for all abilities.”
