The Reds' head of nutrition, Mona Nemmer, led the interactive session which included making tasty smoothies and preparing and eating fruit and vegetables in a fun and inventive way - including making edible food animals.
Children from three local schools - Anfield Road Primary School, Pinehurst Primary School and St Paul’s Catholic Junior School - spent time learning from Mona about the importance of a healthy, balanced diet and what LFC's players eat to maintain maximum health and fitness.
The Red Neighbours programme focuses on four key areas of need in and around the Anfield area: food poverty and education, support for the elderly community, encouraging a physically active community and creating memorable experiences for young people.
During the month of October, the main focus of the Red Neighbours team is food poverty and education, with a variety of activities and events taking place in the local community.
