One hundred and twenty guests, invited through three local primary schools, were welcomed to the stadium by LFC’s mascot Mighty Red before enjoying a delicious breakfast and embarking on the new stadium tour of Anfield.
LFC legend Robbie Fowler also headed down to meet the residents and lend a hand with serving the food, while the pupils and their families - from Four Oaks, New Park and Whitefield primary schools - took part in some fun Mighty Red activities. All of the children were given LFC goodies to take home.
The Red Neighbours programme focuses on four key areas of need in and around the Anfield area – creating memorable experiences for young people; food poverty and education; support for the elderly community and encouraging a physically active community.
During the month of October, the main focus of the Red Neighbours team is food poverty and education, with a variety of activities and events taking place in the local community.
