The Premier League Primary Stars Football Intervention tournament saw over 100 young players from primary schools across the city go head-to-head in a series of knockout games.
The competition was the culmination of a six-week programme, run by the LFC Foundation, during which the youngsters received training from LFC Foundation coaches and were encouraged to plan and deliver their own sessions in school breaks.
David McParland, LFC Foundation project lead, said: "This programme is designed to educate young people on the importance of staying physically active and the benefits of playing team sports.
"We encourage them to develop their skills and confidence, and the sessions can really improve their fitness levels too.
"At the end of the six weeks, the players come away with a great deal of knowledge and understanding which they can take with them as they progress into secondary school."
The Football Intervention programme forms part of the wider Premier League Primary Stars initiative, which uses the appeal of football to inspire primary school children.
