The 2018-19 replica jerseys were collected by the club as part of the like-for-like kit exchange arranged after the Reds forward changed his squad number to 10 for the new season.
Having been exchanged at LFC stores, the ‘Mane 19’ shirts were donated to KitAid, a charity that distributes recycled and donated football kits in Africa.
KitAid is currently working with Friends of Mulanje Orphans (FOMO) to distribute the kit to underprivileged children in Malawi.
“This was a fantastic suggestion by Liverpool FC, to ensure that the No.19 shirts are put to great use,” said Janet Neville, trustee of KitAid.
“This donation has brought so much joy to these children who, as you can imagine, are all massive fans of the African footballer.”
