Earlier this week, Reds staff volunteers assisted with packing the treat boxes, which aim to boost morale and team spirit during the coronavirus pandemic. The packs include items such as confectionery, drinks and snacks, all of which are accompanied by a ‘thank you’ card from the organisation praising staff for their hard work during these challenging times.
Community Integrated Care is one of the UK’s largest health and social care charities. It provides care and support to thousands of people across England and Scotland with a diverse range of care needs, including learning disabilities, autism, mental health concerns and dementia.
Alongside the treat boxes, LFC staff volunteers will be delivering much-needed personal protective equipment provided by Community Integrated Care, including masks, gloves and plastic aprons to help protect against coronavirus.
John Hughes, director of partnerships and communities at Community Integrated Care, said: “In this time of challenge for the social care sector, it is invaluable to have the support of partners, like LFC and the LFC Foundation, in helping to lighten the load of our teams.
“To have the backing of such an iconic organisation – not only in our local community, but across the whole world – has given everyone a much-needed boost.
“The respect and compassion shown by LFC Foundation for the key workers working on the frontline of this crisis in social care, and for the people we support, has been inspirational. We are grateful for their support.”
Matt Parish, LFC Foundation director, said: “We are really pleased that we can help support local charities, such as Community Integrated Care, to spread some much-needed cheer during these difficult times.
“Key workers, both locally and nationally, are playing such a valuable and important role in supporting our communities during the global pandemic.”
