The hampers included fresh food to prepare a turkey roast dinner and a host of festive treats. Club partners AXA, Cadbury, Joie, Lavazza, NH Foods and Quorn also supported the Christmas food hampers to ensure they had that extra special touch.
Joie also invited a surprise guest to help deliver the hampers – Father Christmas and his elf made a special appearance in the Joie taxi to add a bit of extra festive fun.
The Operation Christmas Magic campaign is specifically aimed at tackling food poverty and social isolation during the build-up to Christmas.
Forbes Duff, Red Neighbours' senior manager, said: “Our Operation Christmas Magic campaign aims to spread some festive cheer and support throughout our local communities at a time that may not always be easy for many people.
“With the ongoing pandemic, our community response work has been incredibly important to helping people in the local area cope with what has been a challenging and unique situation. We wanted to continue to offer this support throughout the festive period to help tackle food poverty and social isolation during the build-up to Christmas.
“It’s fantastic to see partners like Joie caring for families in the community and helping to try and make this Christmas as enjoyable as possible. We’re thrilled that Father Christmas has been able to bring a smile to these families and spread some festive magic.”
