In his debut campaign with the Reds, the Senegal international scored 13 Premier League goals in 29 appearances, injecting extra pace and creativity to Jürgen Klopp’s side before injury brought his year to a premature conclusion in April.
Mane was voted Player of the Season by supporters in a poll on this website, and also secured the accolade of Players’ Player of the Season – as chosen by the rest of the Liverpool first team.
Among the other winners on the night were Emre Can, whose spectacular overhead kick against Watford last week secured the Goal of the Season prize, and Trent Alexander-Arnold – named the club’s Young Player of the Season.
Sophie Ingle took the honour of Liverpool Ladies’ Player of the Season, while Ben Woodburn’s breakthrough campaign, in which the forward became the club’s youngest ever goalscorer, was acknowledged by the Academy with the Player of the Season award from Kirkby.
Staff and supporters were recognised during the annual event at Anfield, too, and there were special presentations to Reds legend Roger Hunt, the European Cup-winning team of 1977 and Lucas Leiva for his decade of service to the club.
