Delight for young Reds as England U20s seal World Cup glory

Sheyi Ojo made an appearance as England's youngsters produced an heroic display to win the FIFA U20 World Cup with a 1-0 victory over Venezuela on Sunday.

The Liverpool forward appeared as a 61st-minute substitute at the Suwon World Cup Stadium in South Korea and was a lively figure on the flank.

Striker Dominic Solanke, who has agreed terms to join the Reds on July 1, lasted the full distance, while Ovie Ejaria remained on the bench.

Everton forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin grabbed the only goal of the game in the 35th minute when he followed up his initial saved effort to fire the Young Lions into the lead.

Paul Simpson’s side then had goalkeeper Freddie Woodman to thank as he produced an heroic penalty save on 74 minutes to deny Adalberto Peñaranda.
