The club’s official training kit partner, BetVictor, offered to donate their rights for the match to the Owen McVeigh Foundation to help raise awareness of the cause ahead of kick off this afternoon.
Owen, an ardent Red who was a regular at home and away matches, tragically died at the age of 11 shortly after being diagnosed with leukaemia in December 2015.
His parents, Mark and Joanne, established the Owen McVeigh Foundation, which aims to enrich the lives of local children suffering with cancer by providing them and their families with money-cannot-buy experiences.
The T-shirts have been sold to help raise funds, and Liverpool FC recently lent its support by selling a special version in three city stores and online – with all profits going directly to the Foundation.
