Sadio Mane's first-half goal and a Mohamed Salah brace in the second period earned the Reds a seemingly comfortable three points from a potentially tricky trip to the Potteries.
But the full-time result does not tell the whole story, according to the man who captained Jürgen Klopp's side on the night.
He told Liverpoolfc.com: "All the boys did really well. Stoke is a tough place to come to and of course we won 3-0 in the end but it wasn’t that easy, we had to fight for it. We did well.
"Mo comes on the pitch for the last 20 minutes to help us out and settle the game, which gives us a good scoreline, and I think we deserve it with the way we played.
"We defended the best we could and created chances on the counter attack - even the first half we could have scored more than one.
"A clean sheet for the 'keeper is always nice and we will take that but I think it is all credit to the boys.
"It is always an extra bonus apart from the three goals we scored."
The Belgian reserved special praise for Salah, who came from the bench to notch his 16th and 17th goals for the club in just his 21st outing since a summer move from Roma.
"He’s in really good form at the moment so it’s very important for us," he added.
"He played a lot of minutes and [that's why the manager] took him out but he comes on and he can change the game for us as well.
"So all credit to him, let’s hope he can keep doing it."
