Captain Henderson made his first appearance in five weeks as a 65th-minute substitute during the Reds’ 3-2 FA Cup defeat to West Bromwich Albion on Saturday following a hamstring injury.
The midfielder was brought on at the same time as vice-skipper James Milner and, speaking during his press conference to preview Tuesday’s trip to Huddersfield Town, Klopp praised the positive impact the duo had during an otherwise disappointing team performance.
“Very important,” the boss replied, when asked about the significance of Henderson’s availability.
“We need all the boys and I think Hendo did well when he came on, like Millie did. They brought some fresh ideas, obviously confidence. They were not involved in the first 60-70 minutes so they showed up.
“Both had good moments in the game and were involved in a lot of good things, so [it’s] very important for us, of course.”
