Klopp was shortlisted for the award on Friday alongside Hughton, plus Watford’s Javi Gracia, Mauricio Pochettino of Tottenham Hotspur and Huddersfield Town coach David Wagner.
Asked at his pre-match press conference which fellow manager would get his vote, the German replied: “Good luck [to all]! There’s no battle between us.
“I got it once. I think Dave got it as well. If Chris didn’t have it so far I would go for him. What they are doing in the moment is really good and I like the story they write there. My favourite is Chris this month.”
