Paris Saint-Germain make the trip to Liverpool in the opening round of Group C fixtures having started their Ligue 1 campaign with five successive victories - a run matched by the Reds in the Premier League.
Thomas Tuchel’s side - who kicked off 2018-19 by beating AS Monaco 4-0 in the Trophee des Champions, the French equivalent of the Community Shield - have netted 17 times and conceded four in their domestic division this term.
Four of those goals scored came in a 4-0 home success over Saint-Etienne on Friday, with Julian Draxler, Edinson Cavani, Angel Di Maria and Moussa Diaby on the mark for the Ligue 1 leaders.
Neymar (rested) and Kylian Mbappe (suspended) missed that match at Parc des Princes, but are set to be available against a Liverpool outfit Tuchel expects to provide PSG with a ‘big test’.
“We know that Anfield is one of the toughest trips in Europe. Saint-Etienne was a good rehearsal,” said the French champions’ boss.
“It was good for our confidence ahead of Tuesday's match at Anfield against Liverpool. It will be a big test for us. We are confident, though.”
