The midfielder overcame illness to play, and score, in Liverpool’s 3-0 victory over Bournemouth at Anfield last weekend.
He has not yet been able to join in with his teammates’ sessions during the Reds’ ongoing camp in Marbella, though, but Jürgen Klopp expects his No.5 to do so this afternoon.
“Gini didn’t train yet, that’s of course not cool after a very intense game for him,” the boss told Liverpoolfc.com.
“So he had a little dip, but will start today so that’s good.”
