Trent, is that just the performance you've been looking for?
At the end of the day we are a team that likes to perform well but it's a results business and we want to be getting wins. We haven't been able to get that in the last four or five games, so it was good to put things right and do it in a way like we did.
What felt different about tonight that hasn't been there in the past few weeks?
I think our intensity. We've been getting there in the last few games but just haven't really been scoring, but it all clicked today. It was a good place to do it as well against rivals and it's always nice to get the win.
On your goal, you caught that quite nicely…
I've just gambled a little bit, hoping that the 'keeper would parry it. He did and I was there to tuck it away. It's been a while since I scored and it felt good to get back on the scoresheet again. I felt good out there tonight. I felt like I was back at my best and was able to influence the game like I wanted to.
The manager spoke about making you the 'team nobody wants to face' and it felt like that tonight…
That was the case for us the last few years that we have been the team that no-one wants to play against, and maybe in the last few weeks that's changed a little bit. I think tonight was a statement to put that to bed and we are looking like that team that no-one wants to play against. We punished the opposition with the mistakes and we capitalised on chances and scored goals. It was disappointing not to get the clean sheet but we can't be perfect at the end of the day.
Was this result a statement to say, 'This is our title and we want to do our best to cling onto it as much as possible'?
It's been a poor run of results, which we can't really afford, so it was important for us to come here and get a result. We wanted to come here and take the three points and we've been able to do that with an unbelievable performance from the lads.
