The Egyptian arrived in Merseyside on Tuesday to undergo medical checks and put the final touches on personal terms.
He becomes the most expensive signing in Liverpool's illustrious history, exceeding the £35m they paid to sign Andy Carroll from Newcastle United in 2011.
Speaking to Liverpoolfc.com, Salah said: 'I'm very excited to be here. I'm very happy.
'I will give 100 per cent and give everything for the club. I really want to win something for this club.
'We have a great team and very good players. I was watching the games last year and everyone was giving 100 per cent to win something.
'Everyone can see the coach gives everything. I hope to see that together we can give everything to win something for the club, for the supporters and for us.'
It brings an end to a month of negotiations with the Serie A runners-up, with Liverpool first launching an unsuccessful £28m bid for the forward in late May.
While they have paid significantly more than that opening bid, the structured deal has allowed Jurgen Klopp to seal one of his main summer transfer targets with Salah set to double his money after agreeing a long-term, £90,000-a-week deal.
