Vicky Jepson and LFC Women squad wish Fran Kitching a speedy recovery

Vicky Jepson is looking forward to welcoming Fran Kitching back into her Liverpool FC Women squad in around three-four weeks after the goalkeeper missed Sunday’s 1-0 win at Bristol City.

A nasty cut sustained in training last Tuesday meant Kitching was absent as the Reds recorded their first Women's Super League victory of the season thanks to Rachel Furness’ goal and Anke Preuss’ penalty save.

The 21-year-old posted on social media on Sunday evening to explain her omission from the trip to Stoke Gifford Stadium, writing: “After a lot of swelling and pain… I can finally say I’m feeling a lot better and ready to get back out there with my girlies! I’m supporting them every minute from home.”

And Jepson told Liverpoolfc.com on Monday: “One of Fran’s best qualities as a goalkeeper is her bravery and we see that in training and matches all the time.

“Myself and all the players want to wish her a speedy recovery from her injury and we look forward to having her back with the team soon.”
