Watch free: Jürgen Klopp stars in LFC staff's draw with Stanford
Jürgen Klopp was deployed as both striker and then defender as a team of Liverpool backroom members played out an entertaining 1-1 draw with Stanford University staff on Sunday – watch the best bits now for free.
The boss began the game as the Reds’ frontman, operating ahead of the likes of Richie Partridge, Pepijn Lijnders, Peter Krawietz and John Achterberg.
Liverpool fell behind in the first half against the run of play, but drew level in the second period with a remarkable goal.
Physio Ruben Pons’ long ball forward aiming to pick out Partridge’s run evaded both he and the onrushing Stanford goalkeeper before rolling agonisingly towards goal. A host defender thought he’d managed to clear off the line, but the effort was allowed to stand.
By this point, Klopp was operating in defence before moving into a deep-lying midfield role, and helped his side press in the final stages in search of a winner.
