Liverpool legends Gary McAllister, Ian Rush, Robbie Fowler and Luis Garcia were given the chance to perfect their batting swing under the expert guidance of San Francisco Giants alumni and three-time World Series Champion Jeremy Affeldt when they paid a visit to the home of the SF Giants earlier this week.

The legends observed the Giants in action, taking in the team’s batting practice before rubbing shoulders with the players and coaching staff of the Major League Baseball side.

Giants alumni and community ambassador Affeldt was on hand to coach the legends through their batting cage experience before participating in a shirt exchange that saw Rush and McAllister receive personalised Giants jerseys.

Ian Rush, LFC ambassador, said: "It was great to come down here today to meet the Giants and try my hand at something new. It is usually us passing on our tips and coaching advice so to be on the receiving end for once was a welcome change.

"Jeremy gave us some great tips, but I don’t think any of us will be getting the call up to the Giants roster anytime soon!"

Rush and McAllister then took part in another great American pastime, enjoying a hot dog and the ball game that saw the SF Giants, current National League West leaders, take on the Cincinnati Reds.
