Official Mighty Red Members train at the Academy
The Annual Membership Junior Soccer School took place on Friday June 2, with 96 Mighty Red Members invited to spend the morning at the Academy training with LFC coaches.
The lucky winners arrived at the Kirkby complex at 9am and were welcomed by the Academy coaches, who told them all about their day ahead and introduced them to the Liverpool Way, teaching them how to play with commitment, ambition, dignity and unity.
The children were then split into six groups and received a three-hour coaching session with the LFC’s coaches, learning how to pass, dribble, tackle and shoot like their Liverpool heroes.
At midday, the training came to a close and the children gathered for a presentation in front of their parents, where they were awarded with a medal and a certificate to mark their participation in the day as well as a goodie bag, all given to them by the club’s official mascot, Mighty Red. The Members had the chance to get photos with Mighty Red and also get a signature card signed by the club's mascot himself.
But that wasn’t all, two of the lucky winners were chosen to win again! They were selected for the way that they demonstrated the values of the Liverpool Way, and were given a football signed by members of the first team.
All in all, a great day was had by all and the sun shone throughout!
