RIP Sam Smyth
Liverpool Football Club are saddened to learn of the passing of former player Sam Smyth at the age of 91.
The Northern Ireland forward joined the Reds from Stoke City in December 1952.
In total, he scored 20 goals in 44 appearances for the club before leaving Anfield in January 1955.
During his career, Smyth also represented Wolverhampton Wanderers and Stoke City, scoring a crucial goal at Wembley to help the former win the FA Cup in 1949.
