LFC named VisitFootball's 'Club of the Year'
Liverpool FC has been named 'Club of the Year' after being ranked number one for the second consecutive year in the Premier League's VisitFootball Quality Assured Stadium Assessment Scheme for its overall fan experience.
The standard has been developed in partnership with Live Tourism and is commissioned by the Premier League. The scheme helps clubs set benchmark standards for matchday experience from the perspective of home supporters, visiting supporters, supporters with specialist access requirements and supporters in hospitality areas.
It is the second time that LFC has claimed top spot for its overall fan experience, and is the fifth year running it has come top for the club’s accessibility assessment, which looks at the experience and service provided to disabled supporters. The club also ranked number one for both its home and away visits and was also awarded ‘Warmest Welcome’ for the season.
Peter Moore, chief executive officer at LFC, said: “I am extremely proud that we have been recognised for providing the very best experience for supporters at Anfield. Achievements like this pay testament to the incredible amount of hard work that goes on behind the scenes.
“This award follows a successful season both on and off the pitch, which saw the opening of our redeveloped Main Stand and the recruitment of over 1,000 new matchday roles. We also welcomed 8,500 new fans to Anfield for the 2016-17 season.
“As a football club we always strive to deliver an experience that fans will never forget and one that leaves a lasting memory of this great club.”
