Liverpool FC was joined by Yungen on the set of a photo shoot to launch its New Balance Street Training collection, which is available to buy online and in store now.

The rapper, singer, songwriter and passionate Red took a break from his summer schedule of headlining festivals and international events to take his place in front of the camera and bring fans a selection of on-trend New Balance x LFC leisure wear.

“It means everything to me to be an LFC fan - my whole family grew up supporting Liverpool,” said Yungen, whose mother hails from the city.

Merging mainstream lifestyle and urban street trends with the world of football, Yungen can be seen modelling key pieces from the range, including comfortable street tees, slim fit bottoms, modest vector tops and jackets.

Styled against a deep khaki backdrop drenched in moody downcast lighting, the refined shoot focuses on the slim knit pants, terrace jacket and vector speed top combination, designed in a dark forest green and black colour palette, making for a modern understated design.

The Street Tee is also a prime example of sleek and casual style, while the Vector Speed Tee offers an effortless but fresh look.

According to Yungen, the move by football clubs towards developing fashionable and trendy clothing ranges is a natural progression.

“I think everything really connects now [football, fashion, lifestyle] - with social media becoming such a big thing. I always say the footballers want to be rappers and the rappers always want to be footballers - that’s in my line of work as well,” said the artist.

“It all connects with lifestyle, and fashion-wise as well, football has become trendy now. Even from a young age I’ve always worn football kits out, so it’s become a part of fashion.”

So, which pieces from the range are Yungen’s favourites?

“I love the slim knit pants - this is my sort of fit for tracksuit bottoms that I’d always wear on a day-to-day basis anyway. This is definitely my vibe and I’m really feeling the khaki,” he added.

“Because we have such big support and real fans, we’re probably one of the first clubs where you’ll see people wearing things from the training kit. So New Balance and LFC developing its own [Street Training] range, that’s a massive thing and I think it’s looking really good.”
