Liverpool FC’s Retail Catering Team has won a prestigious national award for its commitment to inclusivity for disabled supporters.

The Anfield-based team was named Employee/s of the Year, awarded by Leonard Cheshire, at the 2019 Blue Badge Access Awards in London.

The annual awards celebrate exceptional accessibility and inclusivity for disabled people, and the team was nominated by a group of match-going Reds supporters in recognition of the Seat Serve initiative which was launched last season.

Seat Serve allows fans to choose and pay for food and drinks online, either before or during a game, and have it delivered directly to their seat. Liverpool FC is currently the only Premier League club to offer this service.

Paul Cuttill, vice president of stadium operations at Liverpool FC, said: “We’re delighted to have won this award for our match day service, particularly since we were nominated by our supporters.

“The team has invested so much time and effort into launching the Seat Serve initiative and ensuring its ongoing success as it was rolled out throughout the stadium last season, so it’s fantastic to be recognised in this way.”

Supporters can use Seat Serve by downloading the app at anfield.seatserve.com

Please note, delivery within the stadium is subject to availability and only applies to the first five seats from the aisle.
