Liverpool FC's official TikTok channel has hit one million followers – becoming the first Premier League club to reach the landmark.

The club first launched its official account on TikTok, the world’s leading destination for short-form video, during the build-up to June’s Champions League final, using the app to reach and engage with new audiences online.

Since officially launching in May, @liverpoolfc has featured a wide range of short-form videos, focusing primarily on fun and entertaining moments, producing 6.5 million likes and generating 81 million views.

From celebrations inside the dressing room with Virgil van Dijk to Roberto Firmino’s flair on the pitch, Reds content has proven extremely popular on TikTok.

Normanno Pisani, partnership manager at TikTok, said: “The TikTok community loves sport, particularly football. The LFC team understands our community and the type of content they enjoy watching, which is why they have been so successful on our platform.

“The #LFC1million hashtag is a great opportunity for our creators to join the celebration of LFC’s one million followers while sharing their creativity and passion for the sport.”

TikTok is one of the most downloaded apps in the world and is available in more than 150 countries, and in 75 languages, committed to building a fun, positive and embracing community by encouraging users to share their passion and creative expression through short-form videos.
