Large excavations for the foundations of the expanded Anfield Road Stand have been taking place at the stadium in recent weeks.

These foundations are crucial to providing the correct support for the stand’s new roof, as part of the redevelopment that will see the addition of 7,000 seats at that end of the ground.

Steel reinforcing cages provide strength to the concrete foundation under one of the cores of the building – of which there will be three, each providing stability to the stand’s steel frame.

Ground was broken on the Anfield Road Stand expansion project in September and the redevelopment is anticipated to be ready for the 2023-24 season.
