Andy Carroll is set to make his 100th career league appearance at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday. Here are all the facts and figures ahead of the big game from club statto Ged Rea.

The winners of this clash will go top of the Barclays Premier League for a couple of hours at least.

Last season the sides drew 1-1 in both meetings. At Anfield on the opening day David Ngog opened the scoring on 47 minutes with Pepe Reina scoring an unfortunate own goal in the last minute. Two league debutants were sent off - Joe Cole (45 mins) and Laurent Koscielny in injury time at the end of the game.

In the Emirates return two penalties were scored deep into stoppage time. Robin van Persie gave the Gunners the lead in the 97th minute but Dirk Kuyt salvaged a point with his 102nd minute spot kick.

The Reds have not won in their last 11 league visits to Arsenal and in the last 14 in all competitions.

In league and cup, Liverpool have kept only one clean sheet in the last 28 meetings home and away.

Their last victory at Arsenal came in February 2000 when Titi Camara scored the only goal of the game. Only two of the winning side that day are still at Anfield - Jamie Carragher and Steven Gerrard.

The Reds are looking for their first ever win at the Emirates - drawing four and losing three of their seven previous visits in all competitions.

Nine hat-tricks have been scored by Liverpool in league games against the Gunners with each of the last four, and eight in total, coming at Anfield - the last from Peter Crouch in March 2007 in a 4-1 win.

The only Liverpool hat-trick at Arsenal was scored by Gordon Hodgson in October 1928 in a 4-4 draw.

They have not prevented Arsenal from scoring in any of the last 16 fixtures in all competitions since winning 1-0 in the league at Anfield in 2006.

Six of the last eight league meetings home and away have ended as draws.

Liverpool's biggest win at Arsenal came in October 1893 when they won 5-0 in the first ever meeting in London between the sides. Their heaviest defeat saw them lose 8-1 in September 1934.

Liverpool have conceded on average exactly two goals per game in their last eight league visits to Arsenal.

However, they have failed to score in only two of the last 10 league trips to Highbury/The Emirates.

The Reds last seven wins at Arsenal have all been by a one-goal margin. Their biggest win prior to that came in September 1983 when Craig Johnston and Kenny Dalglish scored in a 2-0 win.

They have scored more than once in a game at Arsenal on only one occasion in the last 14 league encounters.

In all competitions the Gunners have prevented Liverpool from scoring in only two of the last 23 meetings.

Both Liverpool and Arsenal have found the net in 17 of the last 20 league clashes.

Pepe Reina has yet to keep a clean sheet against Arsenal in 13 appearances, though going into the 90th minute of each meeting last season he had not conceded.

Andy Carroll was on the winning side at the Emirates last season, scoring the only goal of the game in Newcastle's win. Lucasz Fabianski was in the Gunners goal. Jose Enrique also started for the Magpies.

Dirk Kuyt's next goal will be his 50th in the league for Liverpool.

The Gunners have failed to score in only one of the last 20 league meetings between the sides home and away.

Arsene Wenger has won nine and lost nine of 29 league meetings against Liverpool since taking over in 1996.

The Gunners are unbeaten against the Reds in the last eight Premier League meetings and have lost just one of the last 11.

Arsenal began their campaign with a goalless draw at Newcastle last Saturday. They then followed it up with a 1-0 home win over Udinese in a Champions League qualifier.

They have yet to concede a goal this season.

Robin van Persie scored in seven of the Gunners last eight games of the 2010-11 campaign.

He has netted 18 goals in his last 18 league games.

Arsenal's tally of 68 points last season was their second lowest total since Arsene Wenger joined the club in 1996.

Since last winning the title in 2003-04 Arsenal have averaged 74 points per season compared to 79 in the seven seasons prior to that.

Only twice in the last six seasons have Arsenal finished in the top three - Liverpool have achieved the feat three times in the same period.
