The view from Exeter
Exeter fan Matt Crocker provides the view from St James Park ahead of tonight's Carling Cup second round encounter.
What were your thoughts when Exeter v Liverpool came out of the proverbial hat?
Where and when do I get tickets?! In all seriousness, it was great to get THE plum draw in the cup (although obviously an away trip to Anfield would've been more exciting) and yet another big milestone in the resurgence of Exeter City. Honestly, it's probably as much as we deserve after not winning in the League Cup since 1993.
Best and worst thing about a trip to St James Park?
I'd say the best thing is the friendliness of the supporters and locals - expect a warm welcome to the park. The worst thing for you guys will easily be the away end - have fun with that!
One song we're bound to hear?
Although some of us hate to allow that club down the road to sully our big matches, you'll almost certainly hear some anti-Argyle songs, as well as 'There's Only One Adam Stansfield' in remembrance of our striker we sadly lost to bowel cancer just over a year ago. Expect the atmosphere from the Big Bank (the well-loved terrace behind the goal) to be amazing and expect to make absolutely no noise from your end, which we will rib you over!
Players we need to keep an eye on?
If Bauza plays he's definitely one to look out for - has proven to be an excellent signing so far. James Dunne is another one to watch.
How will your gaffer play it?
Tisdale is a superb manager and it's a miracle we've kept hold of him. I fully expect him to treat you as any League One team and go out there for a win. We'll be playing a free-flowing, passing brand of football that you may not be expecting.
Weak links?
The early season so far has been riddled with injuries, especially up front. We may well be lacking the cutting edge in the box.
Liverpool players you're secretly hoping to see playing at St James Park?
There's no-one I'm really that fussed about seeing. As a lil'un my token Premiership team was Liverpool but thanks to home town influence and indoctrination from my dad I soon snapped out of it and haven't looked back for the last decade. That said, I'll be happy if Dalglish takes us seriously enough to put a proper side out (he may regret it if he doesn't).
Tell us something we don't know about Exeter City...
Under our current manager we have never failed to improve on the previous season. We are now also one of only two league clubs owned by a fans' trust after AFC Wimbledon got promoted.
Prediction?
A hearty and respectable 2-0 defeat for us.
