Trio get on their bike for charity
Wirral's very own Superman and lifelong Red Dave Berry is getting on his bike this weekend for a mammoth cycle ride to raise funds for Claire House.
The 25-year-old, a policeman from Heswall, Wirral, is riding from Land's End to John O'Groats and his journey starts this Sunday.
He aims to cycle 140 miles a day to complete the trek and is being supported by fellow Reds Mike Hartley and Matt Brown.
Claire House Children's Hospice is a Wirral charity and they are widely recognised for their wonderful care for kids, and Dave is a keen supporter.
Berry has been training since March and has been clocking up 300 miles a week to get himself in the best shape possible for the trip.
"I have always been a keen cyclist and this seemed like a challenge that was crying out to be conquered!," said Dave.
"Claire House do such a brilliant job and they have really inspired me and I wanted to support this fantastic local charity.
"This bike ride is the longest one you can do in Britain so I'm aiming to try and do it in under seven days.
"I am up for the challenge and we are looking forward to seeing some friendly faces along the way. We will also be wearing our Liverpool shirts with pride so look out for us."
Lyn Taylor, from Claire House, said: "We are so grateful to Dave for taking on this challenge to raise money for the hospice.
"The money he is raising will make such a difference to the children we care for."
