In our latest starlet in profile interview, we spoke to Brad Smith ahead of the NextGen Series showdown with Wolfsburg tonight.

The Australian-born full-back was an impressive performer for the U18s last season, culminating in a call-up to the England squad for the U17 World Cup in Mexico.

Here he tells us about his finest moment in football so far, which teammates need to cut down on their gel bill and who he rates as the top three left-backs in the Barclays Premier League.

Who would win at 'skill skool'?

I'd have to say Raheem Sterling. He loves his tricks. I'd put him up against Kristoffer Peterson. It'd be a good battle but Raheem would just pip him!

If you could holiday anywhere in the world, where would it be?

I'd like to go to Miami. I've not been to the USA before and it's a place I've always wanted to visit.

Last album downloaded?

I can't remember what it's called now, but it's a tune all of the lads listen to and it's decent. I'm not really one for downloading albums. I prefer to just get the odd single when I like it.

Last film watched?

The Change Up. It was really funny. Ryan Reynolds is hilarious in it.

Favourite TV show?

Jersey Shore and Geordie Shore. I love all the reality shows.

Worst dresser?

Peter Aylmer. It's got to be him just for his dodgy Sambas and his Gazelle gear (laughs).

Worst taste in music?

Toni Silva. He listens to some strange Portuguese tracks and no-one can understand them.

Best moment in football so far?

Signing for Liverpool. It's a great feeling to be at such a massive club. I grew up in Australia, so to come and play here is something that still leaves me pinching myself.

You were at the U17 World Cup during the summer, isn't that up there too?

Of course. It was one of the best experiences of my life. To sample a World Cup at such a young age was great for my development. It was nice to be involved right the way through. I played in the qualifiers and the Euros which led to our participation in Mexico. I think the highlight was beating Argentina in a penalty shoot-out. I've never been involved in one before and it was great to defeat such a strong team. It was a real thrill.

Worst or most embarrassing moment relating to football...

When I was playing for the U16s I asked Steve Cooper if I could have a go in goal one day and he flipped out on me! It was quite funny. Needless to say I didn't put on any gloves that afternoon.

Which three teammates would be the most useful to get trapped on a desert island with - and why?

My first choice would be Adam Morgan. He'd keep me laughing and make sure that we all stay positive. I get on with Tom King really well as we have a bit of an Aussie link, so he'd be good to have around too. Peter Aylmer would be my third choice. He'd figure out a way to get us out of there!

If you could take one of the lads to have their haircut, who would it be?

Baio. I don't like Mr T's haircut! (Laughs)

Teammate who spends longest in the mirror?

A tie between Kris Peterson and Tom Walsh. Give the gel a break lads!

Best ever player in your position?

I don't know if they are the best ever, but I rate Ashley Cole and Leighton Baines. They are great left-backs. I've also been watching Jose Enrique very closely. He's impressed me a lot since he came to Liverpool.

Best thing about playing for LFC?

It's every kid's dream isn't it? I love wearing the badge and know how lucky I am to represent this club. It's a real privilege.

And just finally, you face Wolfsburg in the NextGen Series tonight. What have you made of the tournament so far?

Well, first of all, it's great to have had the call up into the reserve team set-up this season. I worked hard last year and as a group we did well in the league. It's fantastic to be involved in this competition. It's just like a mini Champions League really. It's always good to play against sides with different styles, in different countries. We want to put on a good performance and get a good result tonight, so it (qualification) will be in our favour. We didn't play as well as we would have liked in the home game against Wolfsburg so it's a chance to rectify that straight away.
