Meet Ronnie Whelan at L1 store
Liverpool legend Ronnie Whelan will be signing copies of his new autobiography at the club shop in Liverpool One on Tuesday, October 4.
Our former skipper will be present at the L1 store from 12.30pm.
He will also be hosting a signing session at the club store in Belfast, Northern Ireland, on Wednesday, October 19.
'Walk On My Life in Red' is a fascinating read into the life of a true Kop hero. The book also features a foreword by Kenny Dalglish who describes Whelan as 'one of the club's greatest ever servants.'
As well as the glorious triumphs the former Republic of Ireland international also talks candidly about Heysel and Hillsborough and his pride at captaining the team in the emotional 1989 FA Cup final.
Speaking about the reason for bringing out his Anfield memoirs in 2011, Whelan said: "I was asked to do a book after Euro 1988 and thought because I was only 26 it wasn't the right time because there wasn't a story to tell.
"After I finished playing I kept seeing all these autobiographies in airports and thought, well I was at Liverpool for 15 years enjoying some wonderful success. I just thought the time was right.
"It's pretty intense at times, some good memories and bad ones but I managed to get through it and hopefully people will enjoy what I have to say on paper."
The book is available in all of our club stores, priced at £18.99.
