Mike Marsh insists Liverpool U18s won't be looking for revenge when they face Everton in Saturday's Academy derby at Finch Farm.

The young Reds went down to a 4-0 reversal against the reigning champions in last season's title run-in, a result that played a major factor in the Reds just missing out on top spot.

However, Marsh is adamant that a complete change in personnel means his side will have a fresh approach going into this contest.

Marsh told Liverpoolfc.tv: "I've looked at their side and we know what we will come up against. We are already familiar with their second years and their first years.

"I wasn't in charge of the U18s last year. I know it was a bitter pill for Rodo (Borrell) to swallow getting that close, but we are a different side now. We'll take each game as it comes.

"We've got to treat it as just another game. The lads get a little bit more excited and so do I, but we'll try and play the same way in the derby as we do anywhere else.

"It's a big challenge for us. Sometimes derbies aren't about how great you can play football but who has the most desire to win the game.

"We'll make sure we are well prepared and aim to make sure we are up for the occasion. The lads don't want to play against Everton and lose, so we are looking forward to it."
