Fans attending Liverpool's friendly match with Rangers in Glasgow tonight will be able to donate to a special charity collection in memory of the Hillsborough and Ibrox disasters.

All funds raised will be split with half donated to the Hillsborough Family Support Group and half going towards a permanent memorial at the Ibrox Disaster site.

A special remembrance flag in memory of those who lost their lives in the two tragedies will also be paraded on the pitch prior to kick-off.

The banner will be carried by six people, with three from the Hillsborough Ibrox Memorial Group (HIMG) and three Rangers fans - one of whom will be Jonathan Adams whose grandfather George Adams died at the Ibrox disaster while his great, great granddad Andrew Hannah was the first ever captain of Liverpool FC.

Secretary of the HIMG John McGivern said: "It will be an honour to parade our flag on the pitch at Ibrox and thanks must go to Rangers for allowing us this privilege

"Also many thanks must go to them for the collection before the game to be split equally between the Ibrox Memorial fund and the Hillsborough Family Support Group. It's a truly magnificent gesture.

"The stadium disasters at Hillsborough and Ibrox, and those who lost their lives, must never be forgotten."
