Jack Robinson and Jon Flanagan joined in the celebrations as Liverpool Football Club's award-winning restaurant, the Boot Room Sports Cafe, marked its first birthday on Thursday.

The youngsters met up with staff at the Reds diner, which is situated in the Kop at Anfield, to commemorate a highly successful first 12 months.

Earlier this year, the Boot Room was voted amongst the UK's top 10 restaurants by users on the web's leading reservation service, Open Table.

In addition, it came out top of the pile in the north-west category in the Diners' Choice awards and was also elected the nation's most 'kid-friendly' bistro.

Manager Ben Darracott said: "It's been a good first year. Really good.

"We've had a lot of support from everyone within the club. I think almost everybody who works for the club has had a bite to eat here and they've really enjoyed it.

"We've had a lot of customers come in. The majority of which are fans, but we do get a lot of former players as well who have given it the thumbs up too."

Opened in October 2010, the Boot Room serves up a unique, fun and family-orientated experience.

The 230-seat restaurant was designed with Kopites in mind and features private booths and TV screens showing live sport, including every televised Reds away match.

Diners can eat in unique surroundings, which include a selection of club memorabilia, while there are also activities to keep children entertained.

The freshly prepared menu caters for all tastes, offering steaks, burgers, stone-baked pizzas and pasta dishes.

Youngsters can enjoy their own special mini menu and are invited to create their own pizzas which are then cooked by our team of chefs. Kids can also make use of the ever-popular ice cream machine.
