In our latest starlet in profile interview, we speak to Michael Roberts ahead of this evening's reserve clash at Blackburn Rovers.

The former Tranmere man has been a mainstay in the second-string's midfield in recent years and has quietly gone about his business in an accomplished manner so far this term.

Here he tells us about getting advice from Steven Gerrard, which reserve would make the best Jack Bauer and how his mum was the cause of his most embarrassing moment in football.

Who would win at 'skill skool'?

Raheem Sterling and Craig Roddan. I think Craig would win. He's a hard working, tough tackling midfielder but he's got some serious skills. He's a local lad like me so I'd be rooting for him!

If you could holiday anywhere in the world, where would it be?

I'm going to Florida next year and I've never been to America so I'm really looking forward to it.

Last album downloaded?

Jay-Z and Kanye West 'Watch the Throne'. It's quality.

Last film watched?

I went to the cinema to watch Paranormal Activity 3. I've seen the first two but this one is probably the scariest.

Favourite TV show?

I like 24 and Two and a half men.

Which teammate would be the best at portraying Jack Bauer?

Matty McGiveron. He's a bit of a leader on the pitch. I just think he'd make a great Jack Bauer.

Worst dresser?

Krisztian Adorjan. He wears light coloured jeans with holes in them. He's got some dodgy trainers too. He gets a fair bit of stick and rightly so!

Worst taste in music?

Emmanuel Mendy. He listens to a lot of Spanish and African stuff. To be brutally honest, it's terrible.

Best moment in football so far?

A few weeks ago we had a behind closed doors friendly with Wrexham and Gerrard played. I partnered him in midfield for the whole game. He kept talking me through the game, giving me tips. It really was a superb experience.

Worst or most embarrassing moment relating to football...

When I was at Tranmere Rovers I got injured when we were playing Manchester United away. I went down and was really hurt. Next thing my mum ran on to the pitch to ask if I was okay. It was really embarrassing.

Which three teammates would be the most useful to get trapped on a desert island with - and why?

Matty McGiveron and Craig Roddan. They are probably my two best mates here. We'd have some great banter. The third would be Krisztian Asdorjan. He's Hungarian but really gets involved in the English banter.

If you could take one of the lads to have their haircut, who would it be?

Matty McGiveron. He stitched me up when he did this interview a week or two ago, so now it's my turn to get my own back!

Teammate who spends longest in the mirror?

Suso.

A lot of the lads have said Suso...

There you go then. He spends a good while in front of the mirror.

Best ever player in your position?

Steven Gerrard is up there. But I've always enjoyed watching Zinedine Zidane. He was the best player around when I was growing up.

Best thing about playing for Liverpool FC?

It's such an honour to come in here every day and be involved with such a massive club. The fans make the club what it is and are always supportive no matter what level you wear the badge at.

And just finally, you face Blackburn tonight. Are you confident of a third straight win?

We had a difficult start to the season but as it has gone on we have started to click. We are playing better football and getting used to the style Rodolfo (Borrell) wants us to play with. If we keep working hard I'm sure we will build on the two wins on the spin we have just achieved. Blackburn are usually a big, physical side and we are still learning the game so it will be a challenge. On a personal note, I just want to keep playing as many games as possible for the reserves, try to impress and make the next step up.
