'Critics will keep inspiring Luis'
Kenny Dalglish has warned Premier League defences they are wasting their time trying to unsettle in-form Liverpool striker Luis Suarez.
The Reds' top goalscorer has enjoyed a blistering start to the new campaign, with seven goals to his name so far, but has had to contend with unfounded accusations of diving - with West Brom's Paul Scharner the latest to point the finger at the Uruguayan international after last weekend's clash at The Hawthorns.
Despite TV replays clearly showing a foul on Suarez, Scharner claimed Liverpool's number seven dived, much to the bemusement of Dalglish.
"I don't know how anyone can accuse him of diving there," he said. "At the time you could tell there was some contact. If that was outside the box it was a free kick, but he was back up on his feet so I don't know what the problem was.
"He got injured at Stoke trying to stay on his feet. Why stand there and be kicked?
"I think players should just concentrate on getting publicity for what they do on the pitch. For Luis Suarez he does fantastic.
"For us there is nothing for us to defend about Luis Suarez. I think people try and find it easy to criticise him because he is such a good player.
"Rather than wax lyrical about him, they try and find a fault that they see in him but isn't really there.
"They can keep talking and the wee man will keep playing, running amok, going past people, creating chances, scoring a few goals.
"He has nothing to prove to anybody about his credibility and nothing to prove to anybody as a player who plays football."
