Dirk Kuyt and Martin Kelly emerged victorious following the voting for the German Reds' 2010-11 awards.

The duo came out on top during the fourth official meeting of the supporters' club for the young and senior player of the season gongs.

This year's event was held in the superb "Fleetenkieker Cellar Public House in Hamburg city centre, near to the famous St Pauli Reeperbahn area that was made famous by the Beatles during their heyday in the 60s.

The German Reds members were entertained throughout the night by the superb Wallasey-based musician Terry Craven and an excellent local band.

Chairman Ronald Nuernberger began the evening's proceedings and German Reds official branch secretary Graham Agg announced the results for the awards.

Agg said: "The committee of the German Reds would like to thank Ralf Lehmann for organising the event in his home town and making it such an outstanding success.

"Thanks must also go to all the members who travelled to Hamburg from all parts of Germany, those who travelled from as far afield as Switzerland and also to all the staff of the Fleetenkieker Public House."
