Man City playlists: The winners
Earlier this week, Liverpool Football Club called on fans to help influence the Anfield atmosphere against Manchester City by submitting their match-day playlists - and we can now reveal the winning tracks as voted for by fans.
Having listened to match-day feedback over the course of last season, the club asked supporters to submit three songs to be played back-to-back immediately prior to the Barclays Premier League anthem, which is of course followed by 'You'll Never Walk Alone', and two tracks to be aired before the players emerge for the second half to try and help inspire the Reds.
We were inundated with entries and whittled down the suggestions to a shortlist of four pre-match and half-time playlists.
After we announced the final selections on Liverpoolfc.tv on Thursday, fans voted in their thousands - and we can now reveal the two playlists stadium announcer George Sephton will be airing inside Anfield on Sunday.
Pre-match playlist:
A: Submitted by Mark Hill
Wishing (If I had a Photograph of You) - A Flock of Seagulls
Enola Gay - Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark
Hey Jude - The Beatles
Half-time playlist:
G: Submitted by Andy Jones
Ring of Fire - Bootroom All Stars / Ian McCulloch / Apollo 440
Heart as Big as Liverpool - Pete Wylie
The winning pre-match playlist claimed 47 per cent of the overall vote, while the successful half-time selection tallied 45 per cent.
