Colossus hails Jose form
Ron Yeats has added his name to the growing list of Jose Enrique admirers by describing the Spaniard as a 'revelation'.
The left-back has impressed in his 14 Liverpool appearances so far, leading to many claiming him to be one of the signings of the summer.
What stands for Anfield's first FA Cup winning captain is Enrique's all-round game.
"I think he's a revelation, he's done well," said Yeats. "He likes to attack, he's a good defender and he can head the ball, so let's hope he continues to do well in the coming seasons.
"I think everybody's doing well but alongside Suarez, he's been our best performer this season."
Meanwhile, another of Liverpool's legendary defenders, Alan Kennedy, believes it's vital the Reds continue their current form.
Kenny Dalglish's men are unbeaten in their last 11 competitive matches, including two wins against Chelsea and a draw with Manchester City.
"We've taken four points of two of the top teams in the Premier League in Chelsea and Manchester City," said Kennedy. "Now we've got to build on that for Fulham and Queens Park Rangers in the next two games.
"There's no point dropping points against them if we're going to beat the top teams - that's the key to it.
"Consistency is the main thing and I think Kenny will be striving to get the best out of his team."
Kennedy and Yeats were speaking at a Former Players' Association charity dinner at Anfield on Monday night.
Money raised at the event will go towards local causes such as Zoe's Place, Claire House and the Marina Dalglish Appeal.
The function was also a chance for supporters to be entertained by their Anfield heroes of the past, who shared their playing memories with the watching audience.
"We've been doing this since its inception about 15 years ago and it's been very, very successful," explained Kennedy, who's currently chairman of the ex-Reds' organisation.
"It's a wonderful night - the fans are having a good time getting their autographs and taking pictures, and we're reminiscing about the good old days!"
