While 2011 has been a hectic year for the Reds on the pitch, away from first team action it's been just as busy with the squad bringing cheer to the community with a number of initiatives - and we've been with them every step of the way.

 Kenny and the squad make it a very special Christmas at Alder Hey

Every year the Liverpool squad visit Alder Hey hospital to bring Christmas presents to ill children, and Kenny Dalglish and co certainly made their festive period that even more brighter.

Carra goes back to school

Jamie Carragher went back to his roots when he visited his old school, All Saints Primary in Bootle as part of an initiative launched by the Barclays Premier League and the Professional Footballers Association (PFA) to boost the sport at grassroots level. Carra donated a kit.

Carroll wows kids in Singapore

The club won many more admirers during their visit to Asia in the summer, and at a coaching session in Singapore Andy Carroll entertained disadvantaged children and youngsters.

Standard Chartered Football Clinic in Guangzhou

Liverpool FC Club Ambassador Phil Thompson admitted he was 'blown away' by what he saw when he attended a Standard Chartered Football Clinic in Guangzhou during the club's summer Asia tour.

Downing delivers tactics message

Stewart Downing paid a special visit to Barlows Lane school in Fazakerley to help deliver a lesson as part of the club's award-winning Tactics 4 Families programme, which uses the language and principals of football as a mechanism to highlight the importance of strong family bonds.

Le Bron's community visit

Liverpool's 'Respect 4 All' centre in south Liverpool welcomed a special guest when basketball legend and Miami Heat star LeBron James arrived to bring smiles to the faces of local youngsters. LeBron spent an hour joining in with the games, signing autographs and posing for pictures before making a $10,000 donation to the LFC Foundation which the Reds will put towards the building of a new community centre in the north of the city.

Adam delivers Equality 4 All Message

Scotland star Charlie Adam paid a special visit to Wavertree to coach youngsters from the Chinese Pagoda Community Centre as part of the club's Equality 4 All programme. He also held a Q and A session for them.

Coady and co visit the kids in Alder Hey

The reserve team squad emulated the first team by visiting Alder Hey for the first time to bring some festive cheer to the children. Conor Coady and co were great ambassadors for the club as they delivered some fantastic LFC gifts.

LFC join forces with Football Is More

Liverpool Football Club and the Football is More Foundation have joined together for a very special partnership, and to mark the occasion Managing Director Ian Ayre signed a Memorandum of Understanding. Ayre also took part in the Blind Football Disability session by taking a penalty blindfolded.

 Ian Rush visits the Rashid Paediatric Therapy Centre in Dubai

Club Ambassador Ian Rush delighted kids in Dubai as he led the Standard Charted coaching session.

Martin Kelly plays netball at the Premier League 4 Sport project

Martin Kelly temporarily swapped his defensive role for the day to turn goal shooter in a netball session. The Premier League 4 Sport project sees top flight clubs encourage people to participate in other sports. One of those sports is netball with the LFC Foundation's PL4S project working to organise sessions for girls aged 11-16 across the City.

LFC visit Standard Chartered Football clinic in Mumbai

Liverpool FC touched down in India to help coach children at the LFC - Standard Chartered football clinic in Mumbai. While some of the children on the final day of the clinic came from very privileged backgrounds, many of the kids who had made it through to the final stages of Go Forward, with the prize of being coached by LFC, came from the slums.

LFC Tactics 4 Families in Cape Town

Liverpool FC's Tactics 4 Families initiative was recently invited to Cape Town after being shortlisted for a prestigious Beyond Sport award. Project manager Mark Chester travelled to the country that hosted the 2010 World Cup as a follow on to the presentation he gave at the world famous Yankee Stadium in New York after the club was nominated for the Sport Team of the Year accolade.

 Legend backs Kick It Out campaign

Liverpool legend Alan Kennedy sported a blindfold to help promote the Kick It Out Weeks of Action campaign at Anfield on Tuesday afternoon. The former Reds defender attended a special event, hosted by the club's Equality 4 All project, to support those affected by disabilities within the local community.

Reds scoop community award

Managing Director Ian Ayre proudly collected the Football Is More Role Model Award on behalf of Liverpool's community department manager Bill Bygroves.

The Reds scooped the accolade in the Social Department of a Professional Club category in recognition of the outstanding work being done by the club's community team.
