'He's a credit to his profession'
Kenny Dalglish has praised the contribution of Maxi Rodriguez after the midfielder netted the equaliser during his 50th Barclays Premier League appearance for Liverpool in the 1-1 Boxing Day draw with Blackburn Rovers.
The Argentine ace has been a regular goal getter since the Scot took charge for a second spell at Anfield, and the boss knows he can always rely on his No.11 to do a good job for the team.
"Maxi is a very intelligent footballer," said Dalglish.
"He knows how to play and he loves to play. He's not able to play in every game and we have to manage him as best we can. But when he does play he doesn't give you many bad performances.
"He's a real credit to himself and his profession."
Meanwhile, Dalglish admits he remains confident that the goals will soon start to flow as a reward for the excellent football his side is producing.
He added: "The disappointment is for the players, not for ourselves.
"They have done fantastically well. They work really hard to try to put the smiles on people's faces.
"If you wanted to be really positive you would say we're undefeated at home but we don't want to set our standards as low as a draw at home. We want to be winning as often as we can.
"Confidence plays a huge part in everything you do. They have been really strong so far in that they continue to keep getting in there. We had 27 shots the other night which is massive. We will keep at it.
"We have changed formations and we have changed players. But one thing we won't change is our philosophy. We just need maybe the Kop to blow one in or the opponent's keeper to throw one in for us. That would help."
