Liverpool need just four goals to record 500 in top-flight football under the management of Kenny Dalglish.

The visit of Stoke City will also be Dalglish's 50th game in charge of the Reds since he returned a year ago. He has won 26, drawn 12 and lost 11.

Last season Liverpool won this fixture 2-0 at home. Luis Suarez scored on his debut just 16 minutes after coming on as substitute. Earlier Raul Meireles had given the Reds the lead.

The last meeting between the clubs saw Liverpool win 2-1 at Stoke in this season's League Cup. Luis Suarez scored twice for the Reds (the first time he had achieved the feat) after Kenwyne Jones had given the home side a half-time lead.

Liverpool have won 14 of the last 15 league meetings at Anfield. Since losing 4-3 to Stoke here in March 1959 the Reds have won 24 and drawn two of the 26 clashes on this ground.
